1. Applicability
This Cancellation & Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all purchases made through JR Academy, including:
- Course enrolments (bootcamps, workshops, online programs)
- Subscription plans (monthly, annual)
- AI-powered tool credits and usage plans (AI Chat, JobPin AI, 考证匠 AI Tutor, etc.)
- Browser extension premium features
- Career coaching and 1-on-1 services
This Policy is designed to govern and guide the cancellation and refund process for all users of our Services. It should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. General
We offer refunds in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and on the terms set out in this Policy. Any benefits set out in this Policy apply in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and any applicable consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction. Before making a purchase, please read this Policy so that you can understand your rights and what you can expect from us if you are not satisfied with your purchase.
3. Australian Consumer Law
Under the Australian Consumer Law:
- Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
- If there is a major failure, you are entitled to cancel the purchase, receive a refund, and claim compensation for any reasonably foreseeable damage or loss.
- If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the issue remedied within a reasonable time, or to receive a refund.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
4. Course Cancellation and Refunds
4.1 Bootcamp Programs
- Before first class: Students who have enrolled but not yet attended any class may request a full refund within 60 days of enrolment.
- After first class: A 100% refund is available if requested before the start of the second class. Once the second class begins, no refund will be issued regardless of subsequent attendance.
- Batch Transfer: You may request a batch change through your Sales Advisor before the workshop starts at no extra cost. If there is a price difference between batches, the outstanding balance must be settled. This applies only if you have not activated course access before the course begins.
- Course Delay: If the course commencement is delayed due to reasons attributable to JR Academy, you may request a full refund within the initial 60 days of enrolment.
4.2 Refund Request Deadline
All refund requests must be submitted within 6 months of the original purchase date. After 6 months from the date of purchase, no refund requests will be accepted under any circumstances, regardless of whether the course has been accessed, attended, or completed. This applies to all course types, including bootcamps, online programs, and workshops.
It is your responsibility to commence your studies within a reasonable timeframe after enrolment. Failure to access or attend a course does not extend the refund deadline. We strongly recommend that you begin your course promptly after enrolment and raise any concerns as soon as they arise.
4.3 Non-Refundable Scenarios
- Second class onwards: For bootcamp programs, once the second class has commenced, no refund will be issued.
- Activated Course Access: Refunds will not be issued once online course access has been activated and learning materials have been accessed.
- Promotional Purchases: Refunds are not applicable for purchases made at promotional or discounted prices, unless required by law.
- Expired Refund Window: Requests submitted more than 6 months after the original purchase date will not be processed.
- Course Material Usage: Students who have accessed course materials, downloaded resources, or initiated substantial learning activities are not eligible for a refund.
5. Internship, P3 Career Incubator and Placement Programs
Internship programs, P3 Career Incubator (P3职业孵化器), and placement programs are non-refundable once the program has commenced. These programs have limited capacity and involve significant coordination with third-party employers, project allocation, mentor assignment, and resource planning. Once a place is confirmed, it cannot be offered to another participant.
5.1 Commencement and Non-Refundable Point
Commencement is defined as the earliest of the following:
- The date on which you are assigned to a project or team
- The date on which you attend any program-related activity (including onboarding, orientation, kick-off meetings, or preparatory sessions)
- The program start date as communicated to you at the time of enrolment
Once any of the above occurs, no refund will be issued regardless of subsequent participation or attendance.
5.2 Cancellation Before Commencement
- More than 14 days before program start: A full refund will be issued, less any administrative fees incurred.
- Within 14 days of program start: Due to the limited capacity nature of these programs, cancellations within 14 days of the program start date are non-refundable. Your place has been reserved and other applicants may have been declined to accommodate your enrolment.
5.3 Transfers
You may request to transfer to a future cohort of the same program, subject to availability. Transfer requests must be made at least 7 days before the program start date. Only one transfer is permitted per enrolment. Transfers are subject to any price difference between cohorts.
6. Professional Services (1-on-1, Coaching, Consulting)
Professional services, including career coaching, 1-on-1 tutoring, resume review, and consulting sessions, are non-refundable once the service has commenced. Commencement is defined as the start of the first scheduled session or the delivery of the first work product (whichever occurs first).
- Cancellation before first session: You may cancel and receive a full refund if requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled first session.
- Late cancellation: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled session will not be refunded.
- No-show: If you fail to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
- Package plans: Multi-session packages are non-refundable once the first session has been delivered. Unused sessions within a package cannot be refunded or transferred.
7. Instalment (分期付款) Plans
If you have enrolled in a course or program under an instalment payment plan, the following terms apply:
- Non-cancellable obligation: An instalment plan is a binding payment commitment for the full course fee. Electing to discontinue attendance or cease using the Services does not release you from the obligation to complete all remaining instalment payments.
- No refund of paid instalments: Instalments already paid are non-refundable, regardless of whether you have attended classes or accessed course materials.
- Default: Failure to make instalment payments when due may result in suspension of your account access, referral to a collections agency, and additional recovery costs being charged to you.
- Hardship: If you are experiencing genuine financial hardship, please contact us as soon as possible. We may, at our sole discretion, offer an alternative payment arrangement, but we are not obligated to do so.
8. Corporate and Group Purchases
- Unused seats: For corporate or group purchases, unused seats (i.e., seats that have not been assigned to any individual and have not been activated) may be refunded on a pro-rata basis, provided the refund request is made within 6 months of the original purchase date.
- Used seats: Seats that have been assigned to an individual or activated are non-refundable, regardless of whether the assigned individual has attended or completed the course.
- Seat transfer: Unused seats may be reassigned to a different individual within the same organisation at no extra cost, subject to course availability.
- Custom agreements: Corporate clients with a separate service agreement should refer to the terms of that agreement, which shall prevail over this Policy to the extent of any inconsistency.
9. Personal Circumstances (Visa, Health, Relocation)
We understand that unexpected personal circumstances may arise. However, personal reasons — including but not limited to visa refusal, illness, relocation, change of employment, or change of mind — do not automatically entitle you to a refund outside of the refund windows specified in this Policy.
In such circumstances, we may offer the following alternatives (subject to availability and at our sole discretion):
- Course deferral: Transfer your enrolment to a future cohort of the same course (one deferral permitted, must be used within 12 months of the original purchase).
- Course transfer: Switch to a different course of equal or lesser value. Any price difference will not be refunded.
- Account credit: Receive a credit to your JR Academy account for the unused portion of your purchase, valid for 12 months.
- Seat transfer: Transfer your enrolment to another person nominated by you, subject to eligibility requirements.
To request any of the above, please contact us at hello@jiangren.com.au with supporting documentation (e.g., visa refusal letter, medical certificate). Requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
10. Subscription Cancellation and Refunds
10.1 Monthly Subscriptions
- You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will retain access until the end of the paid period.
- No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing cycle.
10.2 Annual Subscriptions
- Annual subscriptions may be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided no substantial use of the service has occurred.
- After 14 days, cancellation takes effect at the end of the annual billing period. No pro-rata refunds will be issued.
10.3 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will send a reminder notification at least 7 days before renewal. If you are charged for an unwanted renewal, you may request a refund within 7 days of the renewal charge, provided no substantial use has occurred during the new billing period.
11. AI Credits and Usage-Based Services
- Purchased Credits: AI credits and usage-based credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
- Credit Expiry: Credits may have an expiry period as specified at the time of purchase. Expired credits are non-refundable.
- Service Disruption: If our AI services experience significant downtime (more than 24 continuous hours) that prevents you from using purchased credits, we will extend the credit expiry period or issue a pro-rata credit to your account.
12. Browser Extension Premium Features
Premium features of our browser extensions (考证匠 AI Tutor, 求职匠 Job Hunter, 牛小匠 Uni AI Tutor) are governed by the subscription or credit terms above. Free features of browser extensions do not involve any payment and are not subject to refund provisions.
13. Bonuses, Gifts and Complementary Services
Where bonus items or complementary services are provided as part of a course enrolment or promotion (e.g., free AI credits, resume review, career coaching sessions, course materials, or extension access):
- Clawback on refund: If you receive a refund for the primary purchase, all associated bonus items and complementary services will be revoked and must be returned or will be deducted from the refund amount at their retail value.
- No standalone value: Bonus items provided at no charge as part of a bundle have no independent refund value and cannot be separately refunded.
14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you have a concern about a charge, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly at hello@jiangren.com.au before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or credit card provider.
- Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account and all associated Services.
- If a chargeback is filed and subsequently found to be unjustified, you will be responsible for any fees or costs incurred by JR Academy in responding to the dispute.
- We reserve the right to pursue recovery of funds through appropriate legal channels where a chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or abusive.
15. Course Modification or Discontinuation
In the event that JR Academy materially modifies or discontinues a course or program:
- Before commencement: If a course is cancelled by JR Academy before it commences, enrolled students will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an equivalent course.
- During delivery: If a course is materially modified or discontinued during delivery, affected students will be offered a pro-rata refund for the undelivered portion, transfer to an equivalent course, or account credit.
- Minor changes: Routine updates to course content, scheduling adjustments, or instructor changes do not constitute material modifications and do not entitle you to a refund.
16. Account Sharing, Resale and Unauthorised Access
Your JR Academy account and all associated Services (including course access, AI credits, browser extension features, and subscription benefits) are licensed for your personal use only and are non-transferable unless explicitly permitted under this Policy.
- Account sharing prohibited: You may not share your account credentials, login details, or access tokens with any other person. Each account is for a single individual user only.
- Resale prohibited: You may not sell, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially distribute your account access, course enrolments, AI credits, or any other Services to any third party.
- Detection and enforcement: We actively monitor for account sharing and unauthorised access through technical measures, including but not limited to concurrent session detection, unusual login patterns, IP address analysis, and device fingerprinting. If we detect account sharing or resale activity, we reserve the right to:
- Immediately suspend or permanently terminate the account without prior notice
- Revoke all course access, credits, and associated benefits
- Deny any refund requests related to the terminated account
- Charge the account holder for additional unauthorised users at full retail price
- Pursue legal action for breach of contract and recovery of losses
If your account has been compromised: If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation, contact us immediately at hello@jiangren.com.au. You are responsible for all activity on your account until you notify us of the breach.
17. Anti-Abuse Policy
To maintain fairness for all students, we reserve the right to refuse refund requests or restrict access to our Services if we detect patterns of abuse, including but not limited to:
- Repeatedly enrolling in and requesting refunds for the same or similar courses
- Enrolling for the purpose of copying or redistributing course materials, then requesting a refund
- Using multiple accounts to circumvent refund limitations
- Filing fraudulent chargeback claims
JR Academy reserves the right to permanently suspend accounts engaged in abusive refund practices and to pursue legal remedies where appropriate.
18. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or cancellation:
- Email us at hello@jiangren.com.au with your full name, order/enrolment details, and reason for the request.
- Include any supporting documentation (e.g., screenshots, confirmation emails).
- Refund requests should be submitted as soon as practicable after the grounds for the refund arise.
19. Refund Processing
- We aim to process all refund requests within 7 business days of receipt.
- Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
- If your original payment method is no longer available, we will arrange an alternative refund method.
- Refunds are issued in the currency of the original transaction. Exchange rate differences are the responsibility of the recipient.
20. International Users
19.1 European Union (EU/EEA) Users
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have the right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services within 14 days of the transaction under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), provided the digital content or service has not been fully performed or accessed. By accessing digital content or beginning to use a service, you acknowledge that you may lose your right of withdrawal.
19.2 China (PRC) Users
If you are a consumer in the People's Republic of China, your consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the PRC are fully respected. Where this Policy provides lesser protections than mandatory PRC law, the provisions of PRC law shall prevail.
19.3 Other Jurisdictions

21. Disputes
