This privacy policy describes how the "Job Hunter" Chrome Extension ("Extension"), developed by JR Academy Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
Data you provide
- Login credentials (via JR Academy account, password not stored)
- Manually entered job titles, company names, skills, target roles
Data extracted from web pages
- Job postings: title, company, JD, salary, source URL (from Seek/LinkedIn/Indeed/Glassdoor/GradConnection)
- LinkedIn profiles: name, headline, location, experience, education, skills
- LinkedIn companies: name, industry, size, description
- LinkedIn messages: conversation content only when user explicitly scans
Data generated by the extension
- AI analysis results (skill matching, salary insights, interview questions, SEO scores)
- Saved jobs and saved contacts
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect browsing history beyond supported job platforms
- We do not collect data from pages you do not visit
- We do not collect financial or payment information
- We do not collect data in background when sidebar is closed

4. Data Sharing
We only share your data with third parties in the following circumstances:
- AI Analysis Services: Job descriptions, profile data, and other text content are sent to OpenAI API for AI-powered analysis. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted via the API is not used for model training.
- Cloud Storage: Your saved jobs and analysis results are stored on servers hosted by AWS (Sydney, Australia region).
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
- We do not share your data with any other third parties beyond those listed above, unless required by law.
5. Data Transmission & Storage
All AI analysis is performed server-side. Your data is transmitted via HTTPS to our backend server (api.jiangren.com.au), hosted on AWS Australia (Sydney) region.

Local storage: The extension stores minimal data locally (auth token, preferences, UI state) using Chrome Storage API.
6. Data Retention
- Saved jobs and analysis results: Retained while your JR Academy account is active. You can delete them at any time via the extension.
- AI analysis requests: Data sent to OpenAI is used only for real-time processing and is not persistently stored by OpenAI (per OpenAI API data usage policy).
- Local storage: Automatically cleared upon extension uninstall.
- Account deletion: If you request deletion of your JR Academy account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Your Rights & Choices

9. Children's Privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
