Perform fundamental nursing skills to maintain and ensure patient safety using an evidence-based approach.
Reflect on, and evaluate, self performance related to knowledge, skills and delivery of nursing care.
Determine appropriate nursing care for a dying patient.
Integrate theory, clinical problem solving, communication and decision-making skills to systematically assess patients.
Evaluate patient assessment data to inform nursing care interventions.
Demonstrate practice at a beginning level in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Registered nurse standards for practice, Code of conduct for nurses and the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Code of ethics for nurses.
Apply the principles of pharmacology to therapeutic drug administration and monitoring to ensure medication safety.
Plan, implement and evaluate of nursing care using a patient-centred approach.
Apply anatomical and physiological knowledge to patient assessment and care planning.
