Racing Queensland's focus is on the provision of governance and services to the industry while empowering clubs to manage and administer their own facilities. RQ seeks to reduce the administrative burden and associated costs to the industry. In April 2016, the Queensland Government passed the Racing Integrity Act 2016 (Qld), which transfers certain functions relating to the integrity of persons and animals involved in the racing industry from Racing Queensland to the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC).
