PhD Scholarship: Asset Intelligence
Job Description
This is a scholarship opportunity for a highly motivated individual to conduct desktop and fieldwork-based research on linear (road) and vertical (building) assets. The successful candidate will be supervised by Griffith University staff and will be located at either the Gold Coast or Nathan campus.
- Examine the capabilities of current available open data standards for asset condition monitoring and management, such as IFC, SensorML, CityGML, etc.
- Develop an overarching open data model for infrastructure asset condition monitoring by extending existing open data standards.
- Develop a digital asset management platform by integrating BIM and real-time sensor data.
- Validation of the proposed approach through a number of case studies.
Job Requirement
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident.
Applicants will be considered provided they fulfill the criteria for PhD admission and scholarship of Griffith University and demonstrate excellent research capacity.
Applicants should possess a Bachelors (Honours class I or IIa) or a Masters Degree (with Research) in civil engineering or information technology.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate their knowledge of asset management, utilise relevant software, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills. Relevant industry experience will be highly regarded.
