Job Description

Technical leadership of software engineers (Junior, Mid & Senior levels of experience) placed within the strategic delivery and development team.
Getting into the detail with hands on development working with the team writing code and delivering key features.
Solution design and architecture and ensuring quality and clean code is delivered by the wider team.
Working with the Delivery Manager to plan out various delivery activities such as time-lines, team capacity and estimation.
Technical solution design, development and overall maintenance of the streams large scale web and API applications hosted in an AWS ecosystem with an end focus on performance, scalability and stability.
Integration into other flybuys systems with core AWS services for identity, security, data exchange etc.
Work closely with business stakeholders (Product Management, Strategy, Operations and Customer Experience teams) to understand their requirements and identify opportunities to improve business processes through software automation.

Job Requirement

Prior experience in a role as a Principal or Lead Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
Existing experience working with various AWS tech with a Java back-end.
Experience with other programming languages such as Python, node.js, javascript, Kotlin, Reactjs etc an added bonus.
Hands-on experience working on AWS platform services such as S3, Lambda, EC2 and Cloudfront.
Hands-on experience using DevOps Tools; Atlassian, JIRA, Confluence, pagerduty.
Demonstrated experience of CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment).
Experience in complex, large-team technical environments requiring prompt resolution and strategic actions.
Proven experience contributing to the architecture and design of enterprise applications new and existing.
Good understanding of design patterns across front-end, back-end and integration.
Experience in leading development teams following Agile/Scrum framework.
