Job Description

Java Developer and PHP Developer

MELBOURNE-based role with IMMEDIATE START.

AEMG Education is looking for two enthusiastic candidates to commence full-time, 2 years contract positions as: 1) Java Developer and 2) PHP Developer; to work predominantly in the office located in Surrey Hills. The role with competitive salary requires someone who has at least 3years’ experience in software development. Ability to work well independently and in a team with strong knowledge of Australian employment laws and legislation. Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) is required. Fluency in Chinese verbal and written communication is preferred.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications/Key Selection Criteria (Essential and Desirable):

General (Essential Criteria):

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering or Computer Science
  • At least 3 years’ experience in software development role

 

Java Developer (Essential Criteria):

  • Experience in software development and project management
  • Sound understanding of IT System design
  • One backend development language (JAVA)
  • Demonstrated understanding of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL)
  • Sound knowledge of OOP and MVC
  • Design, application, and implementation of cloud data warehouse in Azure, Snowflake, Aliyun or AWS
  • Hands on experience with data warehouse concepts, data cleaning, data integration, data analysis and data consolidation.

Java Developer (Desirable Criteria):

  • Experience in evaluating tools and technologies and aligning recommendations to strategy.
  • Strong sense of accountability and understanding of privacy around user data.
  • Ability to identify system and data information flows and their impact to business processes and map and model data accordingly.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Risk Management and Information Security.

 

PHP Developer (Essential Criteria):

  • Frontend development, CSS, JavaScript / jQuery, HTML
  • Modern JS framework (Angular/React/ Vue)
  • One backend development language (PHP, JAVA, Ruby)
  • MySQL
  • OOP and MVC knowledge
  • Git

PHP Developer (Desirable Criteria):

  • LMS system management (Moodle / canvas)
  • CMS (WordPress / Jooma)
  • CakePHP/Laravel
  • Linux system (Apache, Nginx)

 

ABOUT THE JOB

The tasks required to be performed include:

Java Developer:

  • Be responsible for ongoing development of the platform developed in a LAMP environment
  • Operate IT system administration (permission setup, account management, etc.)
  • Manage company software and hardware operation and maintenance
  • Monitor IT system usage training
  • Be responsible in the coordination of IT-related matters of the assigned projects, as appropriate
  • Supporting the preparation of working documents and administrative requirements of the project(s), as applies.

PHP Developer:

  • Responsible for ongoing development of the platform developed in a LAMP environment
  • IT system administration (permission setup, account management, etc.)
  • Debug and test systems
  • General IT support 
  • System upgrade and maintenance
  • Write technical documents
  • Be responsible in the coordination of IT-related matters of the assigned projects, as appropriate
  • Supporting the preparation of working documents and administrative requirements of the project(s), as applies.

 

Benefit:

Salary Range: Market rate depending on experience. Negotiable at interviews.
