Whitehaven Coal is an ASX-listed Australian coal mining company operating in the Gunnedah Coal Basin in North West New South Wales. The company runs four mines — three open cut and one underground — producing high-quality metallurgical and thermal coal exported to advanced and developing economies in North and South East Asia. Whitehaven is one of Australia's largest independent coal producers.
