About the Opportunity
As we continue our rapid growth into 2021, we are seeking Data Engineers who are ready to join the Data & ML Engineering team, helping to design and deliver our Data and Machine Learning projects at Intellify as well as helping to support our ML managed service offerings in an on-going fashion.

Our ML engineering projects consist of building the latest MLOps pipelines using services and frameworks such as AWS SageMaker, Databricks MLflow, Netflix's Metaflow and various other MLOps tooling and frameworks.
Our data engineering projects range from CI/CD development of ETL & ELT pipelines using AWS analytics services and Kafka, Fivetran and dbt, cloud data warehouses such as Redshift and Snowflake, and data lakehouse solutions using Databricks Delta Lake and AWS LakeFormation.
What you will be doing
As a Data/ML engineer, you will be part of a team delivering data engineering and MLOps engineering across a wide range of customers and industries. You will join a cross-functional delivery team with a broad skillset who are always available to support and mentor you to develop your career at a fast pace.
In this role, you will be involved in the end-to-end data science lifecycle
- Problems scoping - working with business and technical stakeholders to formulate a problem and develop solutions with a sharp focus on delivery and execution.
- Participate in the design and architecture of end-to-end data systems and products
- Work with large, complex data across different industries/ and problems to understand a system, develop pipelines and storage systems in order to serve the data as products to downstream consumers such as ML and BI teams
- For our managed service offerings, be involved in the ongoing support of our ML services
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team consisting of data scientists, developers, BI developers and strategy consultants.
- Mentor more junior members of the team from a technical perspective.
Job Requirement
Required and Desired Skills
Technical Skills:
- Strong skills in Data warehousing, ETL and ELT, preferably using AWS analytics services
- Strong development experience using SDLC best practices and TDD using Python or other languages
- Strong SQL skills and RDBMS databases - experience in dbt (data build tool) is a big plus
- Good experience in infrastructure as code, CI/CD and automation
- Experienced in Apache Spark (Databrick or EMR)
- Experienced in workflow orchestration solutions such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, and AWS Step Functions.
The below technical skills would be highly beneficial but not required:
- Working knowledge of Big Data querying tools like Hive, Impala or Presto and Amazon Athena
- Working experience with time-series databases such as InfluxDB, TimescaleDB or Amazon Timestream
For an ML Engineer role:
- Knowledge of machine learning, statistical modelling and deep learning
- Knowledge of MLOps best practices
- Big plus to have experience in AWS AI services such as AWS Rekognition, Forecast, Personalise, Textract etc.
- Desirable to have a Have a working experience with ML feature stores and experiment tracking services
Functional Skills:
- Consulting skills - you should be able to navigate a client or project with directions provided by the project lead and be able to help to understand and refine a business problem via collaboration with others in your delivery squad and the customer stakeholders
- Builder mindset - you should have good problem-solving skills and an energetic and tenacious attitude to get to grips with a problem and “get stuff done”
- You should have knowledge of Agile Project Management and preferably have active experience in participating and contributing to storyboarding, estimation, and working with project management tools like Jira or Trello.
