A unique opportunity for a Database Engineer to take their skills in a new direction as part of our core product Engineering team. This team plays an integral role in Zip’s business, ensuring that millions of our customers enjoy a seamless experience whilst managing their finances fearlessly through Zip.  Joining as a Database Engineer you’ll work alongside our lead DBA providing critical business support for our core products (ZipPay and ZipMoney), delivering on reliability, security, optimisation and performance tuning, which our customers rely on daily.  Alongside your critical database work you will get the opportunity to further develop your engineering skills within a high performing team, who have an outstanding culture of development and mentorship.  If you love database engineering, but you are also keen to dive further into the world of software engineering, this is your opportunity to buddy up with our Senior Engineers and learn from the best!

To help us level up you'll bring:

Exposure to PostgresSQL

Exposure to NoSQL databases 

Familiarity with cloud based platforms (we use AWS)

Experience with a scripting or programming language i.e. .Net, Java, SQL

Good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of business users

Experience working within a risk environment, critically assessing user access

Ability to work fluidly with a desire to take on new challenges
