DevOps Engineer
Job Description
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for coordinating, managing and monitoring the delivery and integrity of the IT network, services and system administration for Mine Super.
In this role you will be required to perform the following functions:
- Develop and maintain automation in relation to standing up environments across both cloud and on-premise solutions
- Design and implement solutions to provide secure application services from both private and public locations
- Be open and flexible approach to designing and supporting solutions across multiple platforms and operating systems Eg. Microsoft, iOS, Linux etc
- Facilitates and develops project roadmaps to support strategic goals and measures
- Determine the best technical implementation methods as well as rapid execution schedules
- Establish standard operating procedures and processes for adoption by the Platform Services Team
- Guide and support others within the Platform Services Team in all relevant aspects of transitioning to devops and agile practices
- Conduct agile style meetings, such as standups, backlog grooming and retrospectives
- Troubleshoot technical issues and find solutions to complex problems
- Execute requirements and functional analysis tasks
- Manage the delivery of software enhancements and fixes from requirements to implementation
- Keep abreast of new technologies, best practices, and trends related to special projects; make recommendations and oversee incorporation as appropriate
- Any other ad hoc duties as directed by the Platform Services Manager
Job Requirement
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in build automation and coding, along with lean and agile project management principles.
Qualification profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification in computer/software engineering (mandatory)
Essential Experience Profile
- Experience in system administration, architecture, configuration and container management
- Solid understanding and experience with programming languages and frameworks including Java, Web, Selenium
- Experience in Windows automation and environment management
- Solid understanding and experience with application environments including database platforms, web and application servers and monitoring and performance environments
- Strong inter personal skills with strong ability to maintain and build multi level relationships
- Exceptional customer focus to ensure customer satisfaction with a constant focus on customer needs to drive solutions
- Proven problem-solving and “can-do” mindset
- A probing and enquiring mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
