About The Role
Consultants at Telstra Purple are known for discovering the latest and greatest in technologies, mastering their nuances, and influencing our clients and our community with their potential.
Our consultants aren't just productive team members - they're influencers, coaches, mentors, teachers and business partners. You'll ll be able to apply your passion for technology and problem solving, while working alongside and learning from talented, knowledgeable and experienced software development consultants. We embrace Agile values and principles at our core so you'll need to demonstrate a good appreciation for the hows & whys of agile approaches and have an innate understanding of the agile mindset.
As a consultant in our Design capability, you'll help to deliver innovative solutions for our clients, improving their design practices and educating teams in a range of aspects of design. You’ll work on a wide variety of client projects - these might be traditional user experience projects, but might also be related to the client’s business or the design process itself. You'll grow into a subject matter expert at an accelerated pace, and be part of a community where continuous learning and improvement isn’t just enabled, but expected.

About You
We're looking for great all-rounders – people who can help our clients with all their diverse design needs.
You may have experience with some of the following:
- Structuring, planning and facilitating discovery workshops to uncover and define the right problems to solve
- Planning and conducting user research and usability testing (including choosing the right methods to get the right answers)
- Analysing and synthesising research findings
- Communicating outcomes of research, using a range of methods
- Creating rapid prototypes to explore concepts and test them
- Creating detailed wireframes, storyboards and diagrams to show how a solution hangs together
- Creating high-fidelity designs and design systems
- Working closely with a development team during delivery
- Creating HTML/CSS for responsive sites
- Using whatever software that gets the job done (Sketch, the latest prototyping tool, Sharpie)
- It’s also important that you have worked in a client-facing situation (freelance, agency, consulting, part of an in-house consulting team), have experience working in an Agile environment, understand what it is to be Agile (beyond just the ceremonies), and are an active and life-long learner.
In addition to having the technical know-how, you'll bring awesome leadership, communication and influencing skills. We'll help you build some of these along the way, but you'll need a good base to start from.
