Senior Software Engineer, Search Infrastructure

Atlassian is looking for talented Developers to join our Search Infrastructure team!  As part of this team, you are going to help to build a reliable and scaleable search infrastructure on top of AWS ElasticSearch to provide our Atlassian customers with a fast, relevant search experience. Your work will impact millions of users across a whole suite of Atlassian products, now and for the next decade, as you define the foundations for how teams find what they are looking for.   More About You You have a focus on the end user experience and enjoy building high quality, scaleable infrastructure that are used by millions each day. You are able to easily engage and work with other developers across multiple different teams, code bases and geographies / timezones.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

Great experience with any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python).

Demonstrated experience with building search systems, in particular on top of Lucene/ElasticSearch (or similar)

Experience operating cloud microservices

Real passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal skills.

Strong sense of accountability and self-drive and the ability to function independently.

It would be amazing if you had:

Experience with Java and frameworks like dropwizard and/or springboot

Experience building and operating large scale distributed systems.
