The role still carries a heavy backend engineering component so the successful applicant will periodically be hands-on. Our technology stack is Java services living on AWS, Cloudflare. What you’ll do (Responsibilities) - You’ll build tools and frameworks that help us rapidly and optimally conduct experiments across different parts of the Canva app - You’ll craft, develop and deploy solutions and hands-on software development - You’ll work collaboratively and advise other leads, product managers, and engineers across teams at Canva to unblock back-end works that help your group deliver features and experiments to our customers worldwide - You’ll facilitate multi-functional sharing and effectively advocate for engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group - You’ll model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, improving processes and solutions - You’ll find opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new insights and improvements that help achieve our goals About you - Experience with Java, AWS, Cloudflare - Experience coaching/leading a team of engineers - Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns - Working collaboratively with team members and communicating effectively - Good writing and verbal communication skills - Nice to have: Experience with DNS / leading domain name registration About the [group/team/speciality/sub] speciality In the Design Productivity group we strive to boost efficiency to support design workflows for teams of all sizes and power up design efficiency by adding incremental and critical value to every business and user! The Website Platform team looks after the website hosting and domain purchasing capabilities within Canva. Leading domains and hosting websites is a new and exciting world for Canva, this role will be to help us ensure we can scale our offering and adapt to the challenges we come across along the way.
