Senior Associate
Job Description
Key accountabilities will include;
- Supporting provision of subject matter advice and oversight to business unit leaders and sponsors of regulatory change
- Translation and rationalisation of complex regulation into simple and easy-to-understand obligations
- Support the implementation of obligation drafting and obligation ownership principles and providing any related advice to regulatory initiative
- Support the provision of subject matter expertise and technical knowledge on obligations, regulatory changes and regulatory compliance uplift initiatives
- Provide support to change sponsors in drafting and/or reviewing compliance obligations and in obligation management
- Day-to-day contact for broader Compliance and Risk teams, GAPP, T&EO, Regulatory Advisory (Regulatory Affairs)
- Support governance, approval and monitoring of changes to NAB’s compliance obligations library and regulatory change management
- Establish a culture that emphasises a commitment to risk management and high ethical standards
- Provide effective risk oversight, challenge, insight and advice across the end to end Domain, working alongside the Compliance and MRT teams
- Connect with MRT’s for policy and compliance decisions and / or technical input
- Provide and leverage specialist skills and subject matter expertise from other Risk teams as required
Job Requirement
To be successful in the role you will need to be tertiary qualified in Law, Finance, Commerce, or similar, with at least 2 years’ experience in a compliance and/or risk management role in the Australian banking sector.
Applicants will also be expected to have:
- Sound understanding of the regulatory framework affecting financial services entities within Australia
- Strong understanding of compliance obligations, issues and opportunities in financial services
- Experience in management, oversight and hands on delivery of regulatory change initiatives
- Experience in people leading and managing a team
- Strong engagement, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Strong written communication skills and track record in producing reports for senior management
