Lectures: 2 hours per week online Tutorials: 10 x 2 hour tutorials throughout the semester, including Orientation tutorial: 1 hour in Week 1 of semester Preparation: 8 hours background reading/preparation for lectures, tutorials, and assessment tasks per week. Attendance at tutorials is recommended in order to successfully complete in-class activities and related assessment tasks.
Critically evaluate a range of factors that influence the development and delivery of psychometric instruments that are considered by psychologists when selecting assessment tools.
Apply the diverse applications of psychological tests and assessments to a range of psychologically relevant careers.
Explain the theoretical and conceptual basis of quantitative methods in psychological sciences, and apply these principles to psychological testing and assessment.
Identify and describe the psychological tests designed to measure intelligence.
Apply practical and theoretical knowledge of the scale development and psychometric evaluation processes including the principles of test reliability and validity and the quantitative methods used to evaluate reliability and validity.
