2-hour class per week (contact hours) plus 2 hours of associated outside of class work per week. Up to 12 hours for assessment tasks also across semester.
Evaluate suitability for inclusion of various technologies within neuropsychological assessment and intervention contexts and demonstrate proficiency using such technologies (e.g use of telehealth and electronic assessment platforms.
Select, tailor, and implement psychological interventions appropriate for clients and their needs, to address cognitive, emotional, and behavioural consequences of conditions affecting the brain.
Assess decision-making abilities and fitness for duties in various clinical populations by applying relevant ethical and legal frameworks
Engage in self-reflective practice, including evaluating clinical effectiveness, being cognisant of own values and potential sources of bias/error in clinical judgement, to facilitate continuous professional practice improvements.
Apply cultural safety principles to provide responsive clinical neuropsychology assessment and intervention services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including within remote community contexts.
Apply knowledge of neurochemistry and psychopharmacology to assess and treat neuropsychological disorders, including considering the effects of common medications on brain function.
Trainees will be provided clinical vignettes and will be required to demonstrate their attainment of knowledge and skill-based competencies through responding to a series of short-answer questions
