Most people still think AI coding means “autocomplete” or “fixing a few bugs.” But in this public session, I explain why Vibe Coding (AI-assisted development) has evolved into an entirely new production workflow for software. At its core, the workflow is simple: prompt → AI executes → human reviews → iterate. The real breakthrough is the speed of iteration. Compared to traditional development cycles—where feedback often happens only after release—Vibe Coding allows near-instant feedback and dramatically faster delivery loops. This is why it has become one of the biggest productivity shifts in modern software engineering. I also break down how fast the industry has evolved from 2022 to 2025. In 2022, AI coding was a niche experiment. In 2024, it started reliably generating full code blocks and even entire modules. By 2025, AI tools can understand multiple systems, plan using best engineering practices, and implement complex features across different components. This is the year where AI coding truly “explodes” into real production use. The most important signal is not what startups are doing—it’s what conservative enterprises are doing. Banks, insurance companies, and consulting firms traditionally avoid risk and used to ban AI-generated code. But since 2024, many of them have begun adopting AI coding by wrapping tools with compliance rules and security layers—because the productivity gap against competitors became too large to ignore. Another key topic in this video is the structural change in job roles: frontend is becoming more replaceable, and role boundaries between frontend, backend, and even product responsibilities are shrinking. Australia may adopt these changes more slowly than some markets, but the long-term direction is the same: teams will move toward delivery-driven, full-stack execution powered by AI. Finally, I demonstrate a practical example using beginner-friendly tools like Lovable and Replit to build an Australian tax calculator live. I also explain an important lesson: the easier the tool feels at the beginning, the more painful it can become later without solid architecture and version control discipline.
