考点本身没变：vSphere 8 架构（ESXi + vCenter + vSAN ESA + Distributed Services Engine/DPU 卸载）、vDS 分布式交换机、SPBM 存储策略、HA/DRS/FT 集群、vMotion/Storage vMotion 的前提条件、Lifecycle Manager 的 image-based management、vSphere Trust Authority、Tanzu Supervisor Cluster。考试 2024 年中起归属 Broadcom Education，官方门户从 vmware.com 迁到 broadcom.com/support/education，很多老 study guide 链接都失效了。

Broadcom 收购后的 2024-2025 年，Indeed 和 LinkedIn 上 "VMware Administrator" 岗位标题同比下滑约 15-25%，但绝对数字依然可观 — 澳洲 Seek 上同时搜 "vSphere" 或 "VCP" 的在招岗位稳定在 400-600 个。原因很简单：迁移需要时间。一家拥有 500 台 ESXi 的银行，哪怕决定全面迁到 Proxmox 或 Nutanix，真正完成也要 2-4 年。这段过渡期就是 VCP-DCV 持证人的窗口。
最适合考这张证的三类人：
- 已经在 VMware shop 的系管/运维：你的雇主短期内迁不走，老板要求团队保持认证覆盖率，公司报销考试费。这种情况下 VCP-DCV 是性价比最高的续命证。
- 金融/政府/医疗行业基础设施岗：监管和 legacy 应用绑定让这些行业不会在 3 年内完成去 VMware 化，VCP 仍然是简历筛选的关键词。
- MSP（托管服务商）和 VMware 合作伙伴技术岗：这些公司有大量存量客户需要运维，VCP 是硬性要求。
不建议考的人：
- 想入门云计算的新人 — 2026 年应该先考 AWS SAA、Azure AZ-104 或 CKA，公有云和 Kubernetes 才是成长方向。

VCP-DCV 不像 AWS/Azure 可以自学直接报名 — VMware（现在是 Broadcom Education）规定必须完成一门官方授权培训才能报考。推荐 "VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V8]"，5 天 ILT 约 USD $4,000，On-Demand 版约 USD $2,000-3,000。如果你已持有 VCP6/VCP7，可以走 Delta 路径跳过培训。看公司能不能报销，这是最大的一笔投入。
第二阶段：Hands-on Lab 建立肌肉记忆（1-2 周）
Broadcom 把 VMware Hands-on Labs（HOL）保留了下来且免费，labs.hol.vmware.com 上的 HOL-2401（vSphere 8）系列是官方出的精品实验。必须亲手做一遍的实验：vCenter Server Appliance 部署、vDS 创建与 vmk 迁移、HA 集群 Admission Control 配置、DRS 规则（affinity/anti-affinity）、vMotion 和 Storage vMotion、SPBM 存储策略绑定、vLCM image-based 升级 ESXi。
第三阶段：按 7 个 Section 刷题（2-3 周）
考试分 7 个 Section（Section 3 不计分），重点在 Section 1 Architecture 和 Section 4 Installing/Configuring。每天 40-60 题，每道错题都要回到 vSphere 8 官方文档查原文 — 不要只看题解，Broadcom 合并文档后很多细节发生变化，只有官方文档才是准的。高频错题：vCLS Retreat Mode 的触发条件、Admission Control 三种策略选哪个、Expandable Reservation 的借用逻辑、NVMe-oF/NVMe-TCP 的配置要求。
第四阶段：模考 + 官方 Exam Prep Guide（最后 1 周）
Broadcom 官方有免费 Exam Preparation Guide（PDF），每个 Section 列出具体可测试目标，必须逐条打勾确认你都会。模考目标稳定 80% 以上再考 — VCP 考试 scaled 计分 300/500 不是简单的 60% 正确率，实际需要约 70-75% 正确率。考试日前一天停止刷新题，只回顾错题本。

公司报销 ILT + 考试费，所以从 VCP7 升级到 VCP8 是无脑选择。但考完后我就开始学 Proxmox 和 Terraform 了 — 我们内部已经立项把 30% 的非核心 workload 迁出 vSphere。VCP 现在是保饭碗，不是晋升。
8 年 vSphere 经验，4 周纯刷题备考。最让我踩坑的是 vSphere 8 新引入的 Distributed Services Engine（DPU 卸载）— 这部分我工作中完全没接触过，全靠 HOL 实验补上的。考试里至少 5 道题和 DSE 相关。

Study tips and common mistakes
**报名入口已迁移**：2024 年起从 my.vmware.com 迁到 Broadcom Advantage Portal（broadcom.com/support/education），老链接和老账号要先迁移。考试预约依然走 Pearson VUE，$250 USD。
**Exam Prep Guide 是圣经**：Broadcom Education 官网有免费 PDF，列出每个 Section 的 "Testable Objectives"，每一条都是考点。刷题前先把这个 PDF 每条对着 vSphere 文档过一遍。
**70 题 130 分钟 = 每题 1.8 分钟**：时间不算紧但也不宽裕。多选题（不提示选几个）比单选费时间，先过单选再回头啃多选。
**重点在 Section 1 和 Section 4**：Section 3 (Planning and Designing) 本版本 0 分不计，Section 1 (Architecture) 和 Section 4 (Installing/Configuring) 题目最多。备考时间按这个权重分配。
**证书有效期 2 年不是 3 年**：Broadcom 接手后续期周期缩到 2 年，到期要么重考最新版 VCP、要么升级到 VCAP/VCDX 自动续期。做 3 年职业规划的时候把这个成本算进去。
**混淆 vSphere Standard Switch (vSS) 和 Distributed Switch (vDS)** — vSS 每台主机独立管理、无 NIOC、无 LACP、无端口镜像；vDS 集中在 vCenter 管理、支持 NIOC v3/LACP/Port Mirroring/Private VLAN。考试场景题经常给你"要跨集群统一网络策略 + QoS"直接选 vDS，给你"3 台主机的边缘站点"反而选 vSS。很多人只背差异表没理解"为什么需要 vDS"，场景题一考就错。
**存储协议的场景匹配错** — iSCSI 用 VMkernel 端口 + Software iSCSI Initiator，走 TCP/IP；FC 走专用 HBA 和 SAN fabric，不用 VMkernel；NFS v3 不支持 Kerberos 认证（NFS v4.1 才支持）；NVMe-oF 在 vSphere 8 才原生支持。场景题给"已有 FC SAN 基础设施 + 最低延迟要求"必然选 FC，给"预算有限 + 现有以太网"才选 iSCSI。搞混协议栈是高频失分点。
**HA Admission Control 策略选择错** — 三种策略对应三种场景：**Cluster Resource Percentage** 适合异构集群（主机规格不同）；**Slot Policy** 适合同构集群但会过度保守；**Dedicated Failover Hosts** 适合需要确定性 failover 目标的合规场景。考试给"主机 CPU/内存规格相差 30%"的场景你选 Slot Policy 就死定了。
**DRS 自动化级别的误解** — Fully Automated、Partially Automated、Manual 这三个级别**只影响已运行 VM 的迁移决策**，不影响新 VM 的初始放置推荐。很多人以为 Manual 模式下 DRS 完全不工作，其实初始放置依然会给推荐。另外 Predictive DRS 依赖 vRealize Operations，没部署 vROps 时这个开关无效 — 考试经常把这当作陷阱。
**vMotion 前提条件漏掉一条** — 标准 vMotion 需要：共享存储（或用 Storage vMotion 搭配）、CPU 兼容性（同族 CPU 或启用 EVC）、vMotion VMkernel 网络连通性、目标主机有足够资源、VM 不能连本地设备（CD-ROM、USB passthrough）。漏掉 EVC 这条是最常见的错误。Cross vCenter vMotion 额外要求两个 vCenter 的 SSO 域联合 + 相同版本或兼容版本。
**vCLS Retreat Mode 不知道怎么触发** — vSphere Cluster Services 的内嵌 VM（vCLS-xxx）出问题时需要进入 Retreat Mode 修复：在 vCenter Managed Object Browser (MOB) 设置高级选项 config.vcls.clusters.<domain-id>.enabled = False。这是 Section 6 Troubleshooting 的固定考点，不背下来就是白送分。
**Expandable Reservation 的借用逻辑反了** — 子 Resource Pool 的 Expandable Reservation = true 时会**向父级借用**未预留的资源，= false 时只用自己的 reservation。很多人直觉上以为 true 代表"扩展自己的预留"，实际上是"向上借"，这是 Section 5 的陷阱题。
