DIRECTION / ACTION PLAN

Target and application conditions

Primary target: Graduate Software Developer; alternative: suitable entry-level web development. Verify graduation dates, work rights and experience requirements for each employer.

Relevant evidence

The campus registration learning project connects a React interface, Node.js API and SQLite schema. Individual work includes validation, duplicate prevention and capacity checks.

Evidence gaps

Organise workflows, the data model and validation records. Do not describe learning work as employer delivery or invent user adoption or business returns.

Application and interview sequence

Compare two real advertisements, map evidence to requirements, tailor an English resume and practise one technical decision story. Record actual applications and replies.

Clarify support

Discuss role fit and whether relevant coaching, practice or specific referral arrangements exist. Confirm provider, deliverables, timing, fees and terms.

03 / PEOPLE AND PRACTICE

Meet the advisers. Read about the services.

Read the adviser profiles, P3 project details and coaching information before deciding whether to get in touch.

What the practice involves

Review the P3 approach and participation process, connecting tasks, responsibility and outputs.

Australia · Unsure of direction — A target-role and gap record

Australia

Separate application eligibility from role readiness.

Organise graduate programmes, internships and suitable entry-level roles separately. Check each advertisement’s dates, criteria and work-rights requirements, then prepare supported English application materials.

Check these in your target market

  • Work rights and graduation criteria in each advertisement
  • Programme-specific application dates and steps
  • English resume, project evidence and behavioural interview preparation

YOUR NEXT STEP

Narrow the target before filling gaps.

Compare actual Australian job descriptions with your evidence. Your degree is not a role. Compare specific job requirements with your experience rather than preparing for too many unrelated positions.

What you can do next

  1. Choose one primary role and one alternative.
  2. Compare two real advertisements: eligibility, learnable skills and existing evidence.
  3. Write a one-page gap record and prioritise the blocking gaps.

WORK RIGHTS

Working in Australia: check your current permission first

Citizens, permanent residents, Student visa holders and graduate visa holders have different circumstances. Check your work rights before choosing roles or planning around sponsorship.

Policy checked:

Australian graduates: check the relevant 485 stream

Eligible international graduates may use the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) to live, study and work in Australia. The Post-Higher Education Work stream generally allows 2–3 years, depending on the qualification and applicable arrangements. Other streams and nationality exceptions differ. Check age, Australian study, English, insurance and timing requirements for your stream.

Employer sponsorship: discuss it before relying on it

The Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) is an employer-sponsored temporary work visa. Hiring international graduates and offering sponsorship are separate decisions. The role, your skills and relevant experience must meet the applicable requirements; sponsorship is not an automatic next step after graduation.

Existing visa: use the conditions you actually hold

Use VEVO to check your visa expiry and work conditions and share evidence with an employer when needed. Student visa holders must check their conditions before an internship or full-time role. A job offer does not change those conditions. Australian citizens do not use VEVO to prove citizenship.

Before you apply or agree a start date

  1. Record your course completion date, visa expiry and earliest permitted start date.
  2. Check whether each role requires citizenship, permanent residence or particular work rights, and whether sponsorship is considered.
  3. Answer current work-authorisation and future-sponsorship questions separately. Ask your university or a qualified migration professional if unsure.

This is general job-search information, not an assessment of your immigration eligibility. Rules and individual conditions can change. Check official guidance and your own permission before applying, interning or starting work.

Questions you may have

Where should I start if I have not chosen a role in Australia?
Choose a role that interests you and compare two real advertisements with your experience. Read the duties and application criteria before deciding which skills or projects to work on. Compare internship, graduate and junior routes as relevant to your circumstances.
What should I review if my applications get no replies?
Check the advertised criteria, required documents and how clearly your application explains relevant work. Review the employer’s stated process in Australia and keep a record of actual applications and replies. No reply alone does not establish the cause. Bring a specific advertisement and application when asking for help.
Does an Australian degree make me eligible for every graduate programme?
Check each employer’s graduation, work-rights, discipline and other criteria. A degree does not replace role-specific eligibility checks.
What if I have no related local experience?
Organise coursework, personal projects and existing responsibilities first. Identify what you can substantiate before deciding on learning, practice or coaching.
Does a referral guarantee an interview or job?
Confirm any specific role and referral arrangement. Recommendations, employer screening and hiring are separate steps.
Does this page assess my visa or work rights?
No. Verify individual work eligibility through official or appropriate professional channels and check employer requirements.
What should I confirm before paying?
Confirm the provider, deliverables, timing, fees and terms, including any specific practice, internship or referral arrangement.
